Solubility

Nickel fluoride tetrahydrate is soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol.

Uses

Nickel difluride is widely used as a catalyst and as a raw material for cold-sealing during aluminium anodisation.

Classification

Nickel fluoride tetrahydrate may cause cancer, although there is still insufficient evidence to prove this; it is harmful if inhaled and swallowed; may cause sensitisation by skin contact.
