Tellurium is a silvery metal, brittle and easy to pulverize. It is found in combination with other metal ores such as gold and copper. Tellurium is mainly applied in the metallurgy sector and in the photovoltaic field. Tellurium is commonly applied as an additive in ferrous alloys, stainless steel, copper and lead alloys. It is also used as a semiconductor in infrared technology, in the thermoelectric devices and as a catalyst in organic chemistry.
