Zinc is a silvery white metal which tarnishes in air. It is widely present on the Earth and it represents a trace element in the human body. Zinc is moderately reactive and it is mainly used to galvanize other metals in order to prevent rusting and corrosion, to produce die-casting and to solder alloys. Moreover, zinc can be employed in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, plastic and textile industry.
