Solubility
Copper metal is soluble in oxidazing acids such as nitric acid and concentrated- warm sulfuric acid.
Uses
Oxygen free copper clippings have numerous advantages: they have a simple texture; the surfaces of the anodes are frictionless; clippings completely dissolve in acid baths; they rapidly produce sludge. Oxygen-free copper clippings quickly form a continuous film until they can be used in a new bath. Oxygen free copper clippings are used in the galvanic industry.
