Phosphomolybdic acid is soluble in water and in polar solvents organics as ethanol.

Uses

Phosphomolybdic acid is used as raw material for catalyst and in addition is used as a reagent in thin layer chromatography for staining phenolics, hydrocarbon waxes, alkaloids and steroids.
